Why choose a custom photographer....

I ran into this article today about custom photography.  This pretty much sums up the amount of work done for a photoshoot and why the investment can be a little larger than your typical franchise portrait studio.  However, even the long hours spent editing, blogging and preparing, I am absolutely in love with what I do.  I get to hang out with great people, release my inner creative side and make people smile or even become inspired with my work.  And for the client, besides getting mind-blowing photographs, they also get to enjoy the photo shoot experience without feeling rushed and they get a boat load of fully edited, high resolution photos to chose from.  Check out this article on why people choose a custom photographer......

Editing the photographs is what truly makes a portrait become a work of art.  That's why I classify our pictures as "fine art portraits".  I love seeing the ending result of an edited photograph.

Here are two before and after shots of edited pics.  Sometimes it takes a little bit of bribing to get the little ones to give a big cheese!  See if you can find the goldfish...

and now it disappears...

We also changed the hue of the photo, and filled in the little girls gums where we removed the goldfish.  Here's another editing before and after shot.  Take a look at the background, the grass, and color difference.

So we removed the house, shed and red car roof from behind the trees, added vignetting, warmed the overall picture, changed the color in the umbrella to match Jen, and also brightened and filled in the grass.

After...

So there you have it!  Master editing by Ria MacKenzie Photography!
