Gavin

I know it's been awhile since my last blog, but I have been cherishing every moment I can with these two sweet boys.  Gavin is such a blessing to our family.  He was born five weeks ago already!!  I cannot believe how much faster time flies with two children to keep you busy.  Landon has been an amazing big brother:  so compassionate, patient and helpful.  It has been so sweet to watch him interact with our tiny little newborn.  I feel like my heart melts every day just witnessing the two of them together.  Gavin completes our family and it is an absolute joy for all of us to snuggle and love another child in our home!

Big brother Landon shares some news.

Big brother!  Did I say big brother??  This is the official blog announcement that I am pregnant!  It was a busy 2012 fall season of gorgeous weddings that flew right into the holiday season, and then finding out that our family is going to have their second child.  I have been over-joyed with all my luck lately! I've been lucky to have such wonderful clients that kept me super busy making portraits and supporting this career that I love.  Now, I feel especially lucky to be growing our family with a new little one on the way this summer!  Landon is such an exciting part of this pregnancy asking questions about the baby and being a protective brother already!  The best part for Bobby and I is preparing Landon for what's to come and all the curiosity of his new sibling growing in my belly. He is full of compassion and adventure and we know that he will be one awesome big brother!

Since this is the the first blog post of the year, I had to kick it off with this special news brought to you by my little boy in his coon hat.  He's here going on a wild cheese moose hunt (don't ask...it's just what I have to do for a photo shoot of him lately), to answer the big question:  Is it a boy?  Or is it a girl?

So I'm officially out-numbered and we are all so so excited!!  I can't wait to share a house with three guys that love me!

The center of my universe.

My whole world changed and had purpose when Landon arrived (before he had his own name and before I even heard his heart beat).  For three years he's been the center of my universe.  He'll forever be my first little boy, the one being that changed my life, my philosophy and my way of thinking for the better. He's the first person I worry about, the first person i want to protect and nurture, the one little person I love to adventure with, the reason I am a photographer, and the one person who is influenced by the example that I  Iead and the context of what I speak.  My son is a million wonderful things to me and I love all things about him.  The  little things he does puts the biggest smile on my face and warms my heart.  His kiss attacks and the way he chants, "I love you", his hysterical laugh that comes right from his belly, the way he grabs my neck and pulls me in for a hug at bedtime..begging me to stay with him for a few minutes while constantly asking to tickle his back, and of course how he can make me physically melt when he stops and looks me right in the eyes and says, "Mommy, you look beautiful".  It's the way he says it....his little toddler voice and over-animated gestures.  Bobby and i wish we can keep his adorable toddler talk, affection and silliness in a bottle and keep it with us always.  There are countless Landon things that will stick with us forever: His little boy intensity and opinionated nature that he's had for all his three years of life, his great big imagination, and his sensitivity and the way he needs his parents more than anything has made him the most important person in our lives.  He is the center of our hearts.

Landon, you'll always be my boy.....my sweet boy .  You'll always be daddy's buddy and his big helper.  I'm sure we will always be this emotional on all of your birthdays!  Happy 3rd Birthday!!!  Xoxoxo.

The luck of the anniversary.

On the day of our anniversary we decided to go wherever the wind blew us.  So we ended up heading towards P-town.  It started off great.....us reminiscing about how we began, our wedding and what we've accomplished together.  We made a quick stop at Truro Vineyards for a wine tasting and some relaxation on their lawn.  Shortly after, our beautiful anniversary took a turn and our car broke down before we hit P-town.  After finding out that a tow truck wouldn't arrive for two and half hours, we took it upon ourselves to hike our way to the town for our anniversary dinner.  It was a nice sweaty 2 mile walk.  Sweaty because it was a warm, sunny day and also because our windows wouldn't shut, so we lugged around our valuables.  The only thing we could do was laugh about the situation, and treat ourselves to lobster rolls and ice cream.  We put aside the fact that our car needed a brand new alternator and that we would sit in about 3 hours traffic to get home.  We could of started cursing the world and sulked for the rest of the day, but we smiled through it and decided that this would be one anniversary we'll always remember.  This is what love is.....it's simply having a good time no matter what.

The aftermath of photographing my 17 month old's Christmas photos.

Taking photographs of my son is no easy task these days.  I wanted to do something fun for his Christmas pictures, so I decided to plop him on our kitchen island to help decorate a gingerbread house.  Since I have to still make cards and send them out I'm going to hold off the photos of him.  So here's an image of Landon's work instead.

What we've been up to.....

Bobby and I had an exciting summer shooting a few weddings.  A big thanks goes out to all our clients who had us photograph them and be a part of their special day!!   I think I have the best job in the world!  We are now gearing up for a busy fall season of portrait sessions.  Our next wedding will be in beautiful Puerto Rico!!  In the meantime, if anyone out there knows of anyone getting married here in New England this winter and they don't yet have a photographer, then send them our way.  I keep having visions of gorgeous winter wedding shots (I dream in photos, just to let you know).  Here's a glimpse of ourselves hard at work.....we like to have a little fun too......

Happy 1st Birthday Landon! Massachusetts baby, children portrait photographer.

I can't express the nostalgia of having a one year old and how it feels to reflect on all the happiness of having a child. Here's a photo documentary of my son's first year. It took awhile to narrow down the thousands of pictures taken, but I've made it into two songs (you'll have to turn on the music yourself...click the volume button on the slideshow....hurry up!)

Mom and Dad love you more than anything, Landon!!! Happy first birthday!!!!

9 months old.

Here's some pics of my son from the other day. I'm in love with his two front bottom teeth and the fact that he claps his hands and crawls at super speed.   He's almost walking, but right now it looks more like a drunken sailor.
